Betty Sue Neese Wray

Betty Sue Neese Wray of Dawsonville, GA passed away on Monday June 8, 2020 at the age of 85. She was born on March 18, 1935, in Greensboro, NC, to the late William Thomas and Flossie Belle Neese.

Betty was a retired Registered Nurse. She enjoyed studying her Bible and sharing her faith in God, cross stitch, sewing, reading, and gardening. A devoted wife of 57 years and mother of three. While working on her RN degree at High Point Memorial Hospital in High Point, NC she met her husband David. She served as a RN at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in NC for 11 years, Florida Bureau of Alcoholic Rehabilitation in Avon Park, FL for 3 years, and retired from American Red Cross in Atlanta, GA after 17 years of service.

After she retired, Betty continued volunteering medical help to others, like the assisting in the rehabilitation of a Dekalb Fireman who was injured while battling a house fire. She received the 2000 honorary award from Build a Better Georgia.

In heaven, she will be joining her husband David Lee and daughter Denita Lynne. Surviving are her daughters, Terrie Wray, Weatherford, TX and Carol Wray, Dawsonville, GA; grandchildren, Joseph DeLaney, Heather Gardner, Ian Bennett and Rachel Bennett, Crystal Macallister; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services: Sunday, June 14 at 3 pm
at North Atlanta Memorial Park, Doraville, GA.
